Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today, some of you will be getting ready for romantic dates with your signficant other and some of you will be rushing around the mall, trying to find a gift that won’t snitch on how last minute it was.  Then again, many of you will want to spend today hating the person who invented Valentine’s Day as you sit alone at home watching reruns of shows that dominated the ’90s.  But, honestly, what are you so upset about?

Did you want to spend $100+ on gifts, candy, and dinner?  Would you rather spend the rest of the year arguing over how someone didn’t call you back?  When you were in a relationship, how much time did you spend worrying about infidelity (on your part and theirs)?

I believe that things happen for a reason, so you’re probably single because it’s better for you to be single right now.  Stop worrying about what you don’t have and be grateful for what you do have.  Take today to celebrate the friends that are always there for you and who somehow always know how to show you a good time.  Take today to show your family how much you love them (my mom has never missed a V-Day to give us a heart shaped box of chocolates).  You can even take today to show yourself some appreciation.  Buy yourself something nice!  And even if all of that doesn’t change your mind, be happy about the money and time you save from being single!

So to everyone I wish you all a very Happy Valentine’s Day!  No matter who the person is (your boyfriend, your best friend, your mom, or even yourself), show them how much you love them.  Don’t let any opportunity to do so slip away.

Happy Valentine’s Day my loves!
