Forget. Keep Silent. Stand Alone.

What three things can never be done?  Forget.  Keep silent.  Stand alone. – Muriel Rukeyser

One of the many sayings that I live by is forgive, but never forget.  I cannot forget the things that have impacted our lives so strongly.  We cannot forget those things.  The bad times will always haunt us.  Time will help them fade, but they will never disappear.  We will always remember when our trust is betrayed, when we lose a loved one, and when we hurt the most.  The good times will always be with us to comfort us.  The best of these moments will never ever go away.  We will always remember our favorite movie, that Saturday night with our friends, and the quirky stories from our childhood.  Some of things just can’t be forgotten.

Keep silent.

If you live your life properly, you will find a passion that overwhelms you.  It may be something as grandeur as ending world hunger or something as simple as why apples are so amazing.  Either way, it’s a passion of yours.  It’s important to you and you want to educate others on it.  When you have reached this point in your life, it will be impossible for you to ever not think about it.  You want to tell others.  It’s a cause that you have to fight for and you need to voice your opinion.  From that moment, your passion will be the driving force behind you and your actions.  Along the way, you’ll probably pick up a few passions and then you’ll have a lot to talk about.  Never be quiet about anything that you care so deeply about.  Never be silent about your passion.

Stand alone.

You are always surrounded by people, but sometimes it may not feel like you’re being accompanied.  Even though you’re in a room full of people, you may feel so alone, but always remember that you are never alone.  There will always be someone who will stand by you, support you, and defend you in times of need.  There will always be at least one person that you can call for help and they’ll be there for you.  You’ll always find someone who will be there for you no matter what.  Sometimes that person may change, but remember that you are never alone.
