It’s Sonya’s Show!

The top 20 performed again and, as usual, so many of the pieces were incredible.  The Broadway routine performed by Janaya and Brandon was adorable, while the Fox Traut performed by Tiffany and George was beautiful.  Chehon and Whitney’s Bollywood number was exciting and eye catching, but the person who really stole the spotlight was not a contestant, but a choreographer.  Last week, Sonya Tayeh proved again why she is deemed one of the best in the world of dance.  First, she brought us a stunning contemporary routine performed by Amelia and Will.  Then, she gifted us with a strong jazz piece performed by Audrey and Matthew.  One spoke to the romantic era that she currently finds herself in, while the other stayed true to the quirky choreography that has become her signature style.  Both, in my opinion, were the strongest of the night and, though completely different from each other, they were both her and they were both amazing.  Between the two I think I have to choose the funky “Hear Me Now” as my favorite simply because it reminds me of the Sonya that caught my eye from the start!
