The Only Way

It may be best

to ignore what others say,

forget the rationale,

and follow your heart.

only you know what you’re feeling,

only you can sense your instincts.

Maybe you do know what’s best for you

and you’re just scared of what may come.

Sometimes you have to take the risk

and do the crazy thing.

It might turn out well

or maybe it won’t,

but, at least,

you won’t have that doubt.

You’ll at least be able to say

“I did everything I could”

and you’ll move on with no regrets.

It might sound crazy,

but doing the unthinkable

may be the only way.

Maybe reacting off of emotion

will give you that peace of mind.

That tranquility

that sometimes logic can never obtain.

Take a deep breath,

close your eyes,

and listen to your beat.

Do what it says

because that might be the only way

you’ll get to where you need to be.
