Ravens Win Super Bowl XLVII

Standard

Joe Flacco

This entire season has definitely been an uphill battle for the Baltimore Ravens.  Joe Flacco had to continuously prove himself to be an “elite” quarterback and, after announcing his retirement, Ray Lewis had to go in each game as if it was his last, while Torrey Smith had to play through the death of his younger brother.  The regular season for the Ravens included a lot of ups and downs, leading to plenty of doubt from football fans everywhere.  It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that nobody outside of the DMV believed in the Ravens and, thanks to that strong perseverence, Baltimore has proved everyone wrong.  Last night’s game, started off with a huge lead by the Ravens, including a record setting run by Jacoby Jones, but, after a nearly forty minute power outage, the Ravens had to continue to fight for their spot at the top as the 49ers inched closer and closer to the lead.  But, at the end, Baltimore’s heart, talent, and sheer hunger for the win set them apart and now they’re bringing the trophy home to Baltimore.  I’m so proud to be a Raven’s fan and now nobody can dispute the fact that they are the World Champions!
