True Love

Standard

I don’t think anybody knows what true love is until they’ve experienced feeling complete and utter joy purely from witnessing the happiness of another person.  Real love is when you could care less about what’s going on around you in the world, as long as the person you love is happy, you’re happy, too.  You see it all the time with parents, lovers, and friends.  They get happy when the ones they love are happy.  Christmas becomes a holiday about seeing the joy on children’s faces and birthdays are meant to be spent making your loved one’s day special.  Seeing someone dance, sing, and smile non-stop is beautiful and it’s even sweeter when the one you love is the person doing it all.  You may not be doing your favorite thing, but watching your loved one enjoy every minute of it makes everything worth it.  Even if whatever you’re doing  does make you happy on its own, the feeling you get from seeing the one you love be happy makes the experience priceless.

I’ve experienced this several times in my life and I think those moments are among the best ones I’ve ever witnessed.  It doesn’t matter what the situation is but seeing the person I love be happy makes me happy.  For me, this true love and this undeniable happiness is what makes a moment in time special.  It is what will make that memory one that will last a lifetime.  Notice that moment, savor that moment, and remember that moment for years to come.
