The Slithering Snake

The stealthy snake
slithers all across the floor,
weaving between each blade of grass.
Its poor prey!
It doesn’t know what’s in store.
The snake is a trickster,
appearing to be slippery and slimy,
although he’s simply dry and grimey.
Funny thing is
his looks are enough
to keep you away.
You can’t get close enough
to ruin his day.
You’d love to snatch him up.
You’d love to stop his plan,
but the illusion of fear is too great.
You’re too wary to take a stand,
so the sneaky snake
gets closer and closer to his snack.
He moves right behind him
and is ready to attack.
Without any warning or mercy,
the snake swallows him whole.
Everything disappears into his jaws,
even the poor thing’s soul.
But the snake won’t stop there.
He slithers far away,
weaving between the blades of grass
already looking for its next prey.
