I’ll Take the L

I would rather take a loss

than not have tried at all.

To earn that L

means I was brave enough

and dedicated enough

to be eligible for the W.

I could’ve won.

But by standing by

and passing up on the possible loss,

I would prove that I would never

be good enough to win.

I would never have a chance.

So, even if I lose,

I would rather be a loser

than someone who didn’t even try.

I would rather be closer to winning

than not having had a chance

at the title at all.

If I’m a loser now,

I’ll still be a winner

before you will even have the chance.
