Until you prove to me you’re not perfect,

I’ll think you are.

I can list everything I want

and each thing I hate,

but, until I see it manifested,

there’s no telling what I like

and what I need.

On paper,

you may be my nightmare,

the worst thing I could conjure up,

the last pick in my mind,

but, in the flesh,

you could very well be

the dream I never knew I had,

the fantasy I was blindly searching for,

everything I craved.

So, until you prove to me you’re not,

you’ll be perfect in my mind.
